Abstract: Histidinol dehydrogenase catalyzes the biosynthetic oxidation of L-histidinol to L-histidine with sequential reduction of two molecules of NAD+. The structure, catalytic mechanism and inhibitors of histidinol dehydrogenase are discussed in this review with 18 references.
