Risk assessment for combined exposure of multi- residue of pesticides

    • In recent years, multi-residues of pesticides were found frequently in food safety monitoring. The methodologies for combined exposure of pesticides are nowdays the research hot spot. The modes of the combined multi-residue of pesticides were introduced namely as concentration addition, independent action and interaction. The concentration addition mode was taken as default method. Based on the concept, the criteria of ‘Cumulative Assessment Group’ were introduced for the pesticides with same mode of action/mechanism. The methods were recommended as commonly adopted internationally. Hazard index(HI), relative potency factor(RPF), margin of exposure(MOE) and point of departure index(PODI) were focused and the scope, the data requirements and advantages were analyzed in case studies. The prospective of risk assessment for the combined exposure was expected. The establishment of maximum residue limit (MRL) in China will be more scientific with the development in area of risk assessment.
