Studies on Fungicidal Components of Celastrus angulatus

Chinese bittersweet( Celastrus angulatus Max.) is a traditional botanical insecticidal plant and distributes in most areas of China. More attentions are being paid to its insecticidal components, while little is known about its fungicidal constituents.Three fungicidal compounds were isolated from the fruit of Celastrus angulatus by the bioassay guided isolation.Their structures were determined as 1 α ,2α,4β,6β,8α,9β ,13 heptahydroxy β dihydroagarofuran(Ⅰ), resorcinol(Ⅱ) and thymol(Ⅲ) and their fungicidal activity (EC50 ) against Bipolaris maydis were 22.27,53.32 and 169.29 mg/L,respectively.
