Fungicidal Activity of Novel Fungicide Chlorphenomizole and Efficacy in Controlling Main Diseases on Vegetable in Field

The antifungal effect of chlorphenomizole against several fungi causing the main diseases on vegetable was tested by spore germination,microbiostatic ring,detached leaves,and potted plants test.In addition,the field trials efficacy of chlorphenomizole 20% EW against powdery mildew and scab on cucumber were conducted. The result showed that chlorphenomizole exhibited high activity against pathogens.The antifungal activity of 500 mg/L chlorph-enomizole against Fusarium oxysporium from tomato,Phytophthora capsici from pepper and Cladosporium cucumurnim was similar as the control.Although the activity against Sclerotinia sclerotiorum from kidney,Botrytis cinerea and Sphaerotheca fuliginea from cucumber was lower than that the control,the inhibition rate was still higher than 80%.In field experiment,40 mg/L of chlorphenomizole 20% EW showed good efficacy in controlling powdery mildew and scab on cucumber,the effecacies were 80% and 84%,respectively.
