Abstract: The mutation potential of ethephon was by investigated the micronucleus test of bone marrow polychromatophilic erythroblasts (PCE) cells and sperm shape abnormality test in mice. The results showed that the micronucleus rate of bone marrow PCE cells in the experimental groups(6.13‰、9.13‰、11.25‰) increased obviously as compared with that of control group(2.88‰).And the rate of sperm shape abnormality in two experimental groups with higher dosage levels (50.4‰、49.6‰) increased obviously as compared with that of control group(38.6‰). Ethephon is a potential mutagen for somatic cell and germ cell.
