Abstract:
Pyrethroids are widely used as they are highly efficient, with low toxicity to mammals and easily degraded. Although the research on toxicity of pyrethroids is mainly focused on neurotoxicity, endocrine disruption, development toxicity and reproductive toxicity, immmunotoxicity of pyrethroids has attracted more and more attention recently. Thus, the research progresses related to the immunotoxcity of pyrethroids are summarized in this review, which include the following three topics, 1) the immunotoxicity of pyrethroids to various organisms from the aspects of immune organs, immune cells, immune molecules and immune function; 2) possible molecular mechanism underlying the immunotoxicity of pyrethroids, and 3) the relationship between pyrethroids exposure and occurrence of immune-related diseases. This review will be beneficial for the further research on the elucidation of the immunotoxicity of pyrethroids.
