Abstract: A series of aromatic isocyanates were synthesized by adding dropwise corresponding arylamines into the solution of bis(trichloromethyl) carbonate (BTC) and refluxing. In comparison with the phosgene method, the BTC method has such advantages as operationally safe and convenient, environmentally friendly, product yield and purity high, and economical.
