    • Insect sex pheromones and analogues are essential to integrated pest management (IPM) by monitoring, mass trapping and mating disruption of the target pest. Insect behavior interference is an environmental friendly strategy for plant protection, and has been widely used recently. Understanding the mechanisms of insect behavior interference is important to develop a more effective pest control strategy. The mechanisms of insect mating behavior disruption by insect sex pheromones and analogues, and their applications of sustained-release materials, dosage and density, mixed with other substances in the field have been briefly summarized in this review.
