Progress in research on ecological toxicity of combined pollution of pesticide and heavy metals

    • With the rapid development of industry and agriculture, pesticides and heavy metals entered the environment, resulting in the combined pollution in various environmental conditions. Many of the pesticide and heavy metals are persistent in the environment and toxic to environmental organisms, which will cause potential hazards to the ecological environment. In this paper, the current status of the combined pollution of pesticides and heavy metals in water and soil at home and abroad was reviewed. With respiration, enzyme activity, mortality and the development as the toxicological end points, the progress of ecological toxicological research of combined pollution of pesticides and heavy metals on soil microorganisms, plants and animals was described. Moreover, the ecotoxicology research on the combined pollution of pesticides and heavy metals has been prospected. This review aims to provide ideas for the study of combined pollution by combining the domestic and foreign literatures on the ecological toxicology of combined exposure of pesticides and heavy metals. And this review also included the outlook in the research field of combined pollution by analyzing the present research situation of combined exposure of heavy metals and pesticides at home and abroad.
