Research progress on the toxic effects of pesticide adjuvants

    • As a class of chemicals widely used in pesticide production, pesticide adjuvants, play a vital role in enhancing the efficacy of pesticide formulations, improving the performance of agrochemicals, and stabilizing the quality of formulations. They are essential components of pesticide formulation products. With the modernization and large-scale development of global agriculture, the use of pesticides has gradually increased, and the negative impacts of pesticides have gradually been recognized and received significant attention. However, the potential hazards posed by pesticide adjuvants to human health and the ecological environment have not been received enough attention. Therefore, it is important to study the potential toxic effects of pesticide adjuvants on the environment and organisms. This review summarizes the current progress in the study of toxic effects of pesticide adjuvants, paying particular attention to their impact on soil and aquatic organisms. This will help to promote attention and further research on the safety issues of pesticide adjuvants.
