Abstract
Leguminivora glycinivorella (Matsumura), one of the most destructive soybean pests in north China, which results in severe loss of soybean yield and quality. Utilizing pheromone-baited sex attractants to forecast and control of insect pests is a new strategy of integrated pest management development. Application of this technology in the control of soybean pod borer is undoubtedly the better choice among biorational chemical ecological control. Research developments of sex pheromone in component and identification, synthesis, field application, parapheromone, and in coordination with plant volatiles were reviewed. The problems and application prospects in the research of sex pheromone were also put forward and discussed.
