Isolation, identification and characterization of an Bacillus subtilis strain capable of degrading nicosulfuron

    • In order to get a strain with high-efficiency degradation of nicosulfuron and to understand its degradation characteristics, a strain named ND1 was obtained from the sewage treatment pool soil of a pesticide plant. ND1 was identified as Bacillus subtilis by morphological, physiological and biochemical, and 16S rDNA. The strain could degrade more than 98% of 200 mg/L of nicosulfuron under the conditions of 30 ℃ and 150 r/min in 3 days. The degradation products were identified by HPLC-MS/MS, and the result showed that the strain could act on the sulfonylurea bond, consequently the nicosulfuron was hydrolyzed into 2-amino-4,6-dimethoxypyrimidine and sulfonamide.
