Abstract
The effect of 20% seed coating formulation (SCF)for soaking and pregermination of rice seed on the growth, development and enzyme activities related to the disease resistance in rice seedling were studied. The results indicated that 20% SCF obviously increased the emergency ratio, survival ratio, plant height, root length, tillering rate, the content of soluble protein, and anti disease ability of seedling. The active oxygen metabolism was ameliorated and Malondialdehyde (MDA) content was decreased. The activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD), catalase (CAT), and polyphenoloxidase (PPO) in rice seedling were stimulated by using 20% SCF treatment. The results showed that 20% SCF played an important role in retarding senescence and inducing the disease resistance.
