The Activity of Abamectin for PineWood Nematode,Bursap helenchus xylophilus Control

    • A long term residual efficacy for B. xylophilus control could beach ieved at least 2 years after application of abamect in by trunk inject ion at 60~ 90 mL/plant on Pinus thunberg ii and P. m asssoniana. After treatment, residual effect of abamect in was 100% in first year and 88% in the second year. A bamectin, injected into the black pine, was t ranslocated to top of the tree by inspecting the distribution of nematodes in the treated wood. High application rate (210 mL/plant ) of 2% abamect in EC, do not induce phyto toxicity symptom to black pine growth. The antibiotic applied by trunk injection was asafer alternative for nematodes control and no harm to the environment and human beings.
