Studies on the Mechanism of Action of R-28725 Protecting Corn from the Phytotoxicity of Imazethapyr

The mechanism of R-28725 for reducing the phytotoxicity of imazethapyr to corn was studied. The growth of corn was influenced by imazethapyr of 20、40、60 g/hm2. The optimium application of R-28725 was achieved. R-28725 stimulated the activites of glutathione(GSH) and the content of proline in corn, which results in accelerated detoxification of imazethapyr via GSH conjugation. Therefore, it can be concluded that R-28725 may protect corn form the injury of imazethapyr.
