    Studies on the Mechanism of R-28725 for Protecting Maize from the Phytotoxicity of Chlorimuron-ethyl

    • The mechanism of R-28725 for reducing the phytotoxicity of chlorimuron-ethyl to maize was studied. The growth of maize was influenced by chlorimuron-ethyl of 5, 10, 15 g/hm2. The optimium application of R-28725 was achieved. R-28725 stimulated the activites of Glutathione(GSH) and the content of proline in maize, which result in accelerated detoxification of chlorimuron-ethyl via GSH conjugation. It can be concluded that R-28725 protected maize from injury of chlorimuron-ethyl.
