Synthesis of (9Z,12Z)-Octadecadienal and (9Z,12Z,15Z)- Octadecatrienal, Two Sex Pheromone Components of Hyphantria cunea (Drury)

(9Z,12Z)-octadecadienal and (9Z,12Z,15Z)-octadecatrienal were two major components of the sex pheromones emitted by females of the Hyphantria cunea (Drury). The compounds were prepared from linoleic and linolenic acids as if the pathway of biosynthesis. The structures of two compounds were confirmed by IR、GC-MS、1H NMR.
