Study on the Method for Acaricidal Microscreening

A method of acaricidal microscreening was introduced. In this method a bean leaf(=2 cm) was placed over the absorbent cotton at the center of plastic culture dish (=9 cm). And then 10 female adult mites were put on the bean leaf to lay eggs and reared. Then the prepared various stage mites were used to spray acaricides with Potter spray tower, and culture and observe the mites in prescriptive room. This method possesses the excellent character in terms of less dosage and high efficiency of biological screening. It is propitious to the preliminary screening of acaricidal activity to substantial novel compounds.
