Abstract
An analytical method of carbendazim and imidacloprid residues in asparagus by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was developed. Samples were extracted with acetone by ultrasonic method, liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) cleanup with petroleum ether to remove some fatty impurities and then with dichloromethane to extract the samples further. The HPLC conditions were Discovery ODS-C18 column, methanol-water=40∶60 (V/V) as mobile phase, and UV detection at 280 nm. The fortified recoveries of carbendazim and imidaclorpid in asparagus samples were 81.0%~99.6% and 79.3%~100.2%, respectively. Relative standard deviation was less than 13.4% for carbendazim and 8.0% for imidaclorpid, and the limit of detection of two pesticides in asparagus samples was 0.05 mg/kg, respectively.
