Abstract
Dry biomass of Fusarium graminearum was inhibited by osthol. When F. graminearum bred with 14C-glucose was treated with 100 μg/mL osthol, the radio activity decreased by 43%. When F. graminearum was treated with 100 μg/mL osthol for 12 h, calcium in F. graminearum decreased by 40%. It suggested that osthol inhibited hyphae uptake of calcium as well as glucose. PAGE indicated that osthol also inhibited the activity of ATPase in vitro, but cell wall lysis-related β-1,6-glucanase activity had not varied compared with contol.
