Matrix Effects in the Analysis of Pesticide Residue in Agro-products by Chromatographic Methods

    • Accurate quantification and identification of certain analytes can be seriously affected by matrix-induced effects that commonly encountered in the gas or liquid chromatographic analysis of pesticide residue in products. Assessment and effectively elimination of matrix effects should be a requisite part of the development and validation of analytical methods in pesticide residue analysis. Based on our research and recent publications, the research progresses of matrix effects were reviewed, including the concept, type, origin and influencing factors, with emphasis on the strategies for compensation and correction of matrix effects.
