Effect of 7% Glyphosate Aqueous Solution on Soil Salinize and Alkalize

    • Potted plant experiment was used in studying the effect of 7% glyphosate aqueous solution at five concentrations on soil salinize and alkalize. The results indicate that after glyphosate was applicated, salinity(expressed by electrical conductivity),exchangeable sodium percentage(ESP),sodium adsorption ratio(SAR),alkalinity and pH of soil increased obviously. With the increasing of the times of glyphosate applicated, all indexes mentioned above increased. With the increasing of the concentration, all indexes increased after glyphosate was applicated every time. After 7% glyphosate aqueous solution at the concentration of 0.352 g/L was applicated six times, electrical conductivity of soil changes from 1 010 μS/cm to 2 460 μS/cm;ESP of soil changes from 2.247% to 7.983%;SAR of soil changes from 1.576 to 4.305;alkalinity of soil changes from 1.443 mmol/L to 4.485 mmol/L;pH of soil changes from 6.92 to 7.89.Though the changes of all indexes are within the range of nonsaline and nonsodic soils, the soils affected by salt in glyphosate aqueous solution tend to saline-sodic soils.
