Advances in Effects of Insecticides on Reproductive Behaviors of Moths

    • The research progress in effects of insecticides on reproductive behaviors in moths, including calling, biosynthesis and release of sex pheromones in females, male orientation to their sex pheromones, copulation and ovipostion were reviewed. When moths were treated with insecticides, calling behaviors of the survival females were inhibited, titers of sex pheromone were decreased, and responses of the survival males to the sex pheromone and the mating success were reduced. However,a few chemicals enhanced the response of the survival males to their sex pheromones, stimulated the female pheromone amount, and led the ratios of active components in the sex pheromone shifting to abnormal ones.
