Studies on Pyridine Derivatives (Ⅻ):Synthesis and Herbicidal Activity of 2(2-Aryloxypyridine-4-carbonyloxy) propionates

A novel series of 2-(2-aryloxy pyridine-4-carbonyloxy)propionates were synthesized by etherification,hydrolysis and esterification starting from 2-chloroisonicotinonitrile and phenoles.All of the structures were comfirmed by 1H NMR and MS spectra.Preliminary bioassay showed that they were effective to Brassica campestris L.,Amaranthus retroflexus L.and Digitaria sanguinalis (Linn.) Scop.at 1 500 g/hm2.In 15 days of adminstration,the grasses lost their green sucessively and the growth was seriously inhibited.
