Research advances in carboxylic acid amide fungicides

    • Carboxylic acid amide (CAA)chemicals are a kind of novel systemic fungicide with satisfied activity against disease caused by oomycete pathogens. It is composed of three different groups of chemicals, namely cinnamic acid amides, valine amide carbamates and mandelic acid amides. Because of similar biological activity and positive cross resistance among all of these fungicides, these three different groups of chemicals were named as carboxylic acid amides (CAAs) by Fungicide Resistance Action Committee (FRAC) at the end of 2005. The recent advances in the chemical structure feature, biological activity, modes of action and resistant mechanism of CAA fungicides were reviewed.
