Determination of hexazinone residues in sugarcane and soil by high performance liquid chromatography

A high performance liquid chromatographic(HPLC) method for determing hexazinone residues in sugarcane and soil was established.The residues of hexazinone in sugarcane were extracted with chloroform and cleaned up with alumina column.The residues of hexazinone in soil were extracted with ethyl acetate and methanol(9∶ 1,V/V).The limit of quantification (LOQ)of hexazinone in soil and sugarcane was 0.04 mg/kg and 0.02 mg/kg,respectively.The average recoveries were 79.4%-86.1% for soil samples spiked with 0.04-0.4 mg/kg of hexazinone and 84.1%-95.7% for sugarcane samples spiked with 0.02-0.5 mg/kg of hexazinone,with RSDs of were lower than 6.1% for soil and sugarcane.
