Application of mass spectrometry techniques for pesticides residue analysis in food matrix

Mass spectrometry is a main technique for pesticides and their metabolites residue analysis.The applications and advantages of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS),gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(GC-MS/MS),liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(LC-MS/MS)and time-of-flight mass spectrometry(TOF-MS) for the pesticides residue analysis in food matrix were discussed.The uses of mass spectrometry in the multi-residue analysis methods were summarized.The perspectives of mass spectrometry in pesticide residue analysis in future were expected.
