Abstract
A method for the determination of fenpropidin residue in banana and grape was developed using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).The sample was extracted with acetonitrile and further cleaned up by dispersive solid phase extraction utilizing primary secondary amine (PSA).The mass spectrometer with interface of electro-spray ionization in positive ion mode (ESI+) was operated in multi-reaction monitoring (MRM) mode. The ion transition (m/z 274.3→147.1) was monitored for quantification.Average fortified recoveries ranged from 94.1%-118.2% with relative standard deviations 1.6%-8.8% in banana and grape samples.Limit of quantifications (LOQs) were 0.01 mg/kg.The method was convenient and suitable for determination of fenpropidin residues in various commodities on which fenpropidin were applied.
